Product Warranty Statement

1. MANUFACTURER’S PRODUCT WARRANTIES
Subject to statutory guarantees, the Manufacturer warrants that the product will be free from defects in materials & workmanship, from the date of purchase for the periods as specified:

Double Skin Insulated Sectional Garage Door, Domestic and Residential use only.
2 years for all components & associated labour.^
10  years for surface coating.*

2. CONDITIONS OF WARRANTY
2.1 Correct Use
Warranties apply to the product where it is used, maintained and serviced in accordance with the manufacturers purpose, along with the care and maintenance requirements. The warranties cover, for a period of 2 years defects in, or malfunction of the product resulting from faulty installation of the product by the Manufacturer or an installer authorised by the Manufacturer. Warranties are void if the product is used for any purposes other than those intended by the Manufacturer.

2.2 Surface Coating* Domestic and/or Residential use.

2 years standard warranty for all components and associated labour.
10 years for surface coating warranty against perforation.  

2.3 Installation by approved Agents.
This warranty covers, for a period of 2 years, defects in, or malfunction of the product resulting in faulty installation by an approved agent. Any SGD installed by a non-approved agent is not covered under this warranty.
2.4 Reasonable Repairs
The warranty only cover repairs in a manner that the Manufacturer considers reasonable, including if necessary, the touch-up of surface coating.
2.5 Proven Defects
The warranty only applies to repairs of proven defects in materials and workmanship. These defects are to be sighted by a SGD or GDS approved agent.
2.6 Proof of Purchase Date
The Owner must establish to reasonable satisfaction of the manufacturer, the date of purchase or installation (as the case may be)
2.7 Environmental Conditions*
Product warranties do not cover damage to surface coatings or the base materials of the product or motors. Causes are but not limited to, close proximity to the seafront/sea spray zones* or similar corrosive conditions.

A SGD Automatic opener products are not covered by product warranties where they have been installed in environments, which allow them to encounter excessive heat, moisture or humidity (e.g. carport applications).

3. LIMITS ON LIABILITY

3.1 The Liability of SGD and GDS to the buyer in relation to the supply of the product  is limited to direct loss or damage to tangible property caused to the buyer, or to the buyers customers(as the case may be) up to an amount not exceeding the contract price received by SGD and GDS for the product.

3.2 The Liability of SGD and GDS to the buyer, whether in tort(including negligence), contact, breach of statutory duty, equilateral or otherwise arising from the relationship between them is excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law.

 

 

 

 

 

4. SPECIFIC EXCEPTIONS

Without limiting clause 3.1, SGD and GDS will not be liable for any loss or damage cause directly or indirectly by;

 

4.1 Operating a product by any device, electronic or otherwise, which was not installed or supplied by GDS or SGD.

4.2 Any masonry, rendered, or other surfaces cracking or collapsing during or after the installation of the product.

4.3 Any weakening or collapse of the structure to which the product is affixed occurring at any time after the installation.

4.4 Any damage to/or deterioration in the condition of the product occurring after delivery and before installation.

4.5 As part of installation, all doors are checked to be in good, working condition before leaving site. Any callouts for non-working motors due to inadequacy made by electricians hard-wiring the wall switch will incur a fee.

5. NEW INSTALL WARRANTY CLAIMS
Warranty claims on new installs must be made within 7 days of installation.

6. MODEL MODIFICATIONS

Product warranties do not cover any modifications make to existing or future models of the product in products sold under these warranties

 

7. CARE AND MAINTENANCE **^

Sovereign Garage Doors are supplied with hardware and tracks in the purposeful condition that requires care and attention. To keep all hardware and tracks in working condition we recommend servicing every 12 Month. High usage doors we recommend you  service every 3-6 months.

To preserve finishes and limit build-up of compounds that may initiate corrosion, regular monthly washing of the exterior or doors in required- use a soft bristled brush and clean water to clear corrosive contaminants from the steel.

7.1 As set out above, this warranty does not cover corrosion or surface coating degradation due to causes or effects beyond the reasonable control of SGD and GDS, including failure to remove grime, chemicals and atmospheric pollutants.

 

8. TERMS

“Manufacturer” means Garage Door Services Ltd and /Or Sovereign Garage Doors

SGD = Sovereign Garage Doors

GDS = Garage Door Services
